Nandi Hills & Lepakshi

Nandi Hills is one of the most beautiful and attractive hill stations about 60 km from the city of Bangalore. Sunrise at Nandi Hills is soothing as one wakes up to birds chirping, the heavenly climate on the hills and beauty of the divine sun. Nandi Hills is also called as Ananda Giri which means the hill of happiness and home for temples out of which Bhoga Nandeeshwara is the must-visit.

The temple is one of the oldest in decades and hence counts to much value as it shows how the oldest temples were back then. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Devi Parvati and Nandiji. The biggest statue which is 15 feet height and 27 feet length of Nandi bull in Lepakshi is one major attraction.

Lepakshi is a small village of about 70 km from Muddenahali and 130 km from Bangalore. Lepakshi is famous for its beautiful Virabhadra temple built by King Vijayanagara. One can explore the 15th-century Lepakshi temple which displays huge Nagalinga, flawless mural paintings and hanging pillar.

Apart from the sightseeing, Nandi hill is a famous spot where one can buy silk cocoon garlands, hand-made items by locals, a variety of saplings, traditional local food, organic fruits, etc.

So, what are you waiting for? If you are planning for a beguiling trip with your family members and friends, then you must visit this place and take the blessings of Lord Shiva and Nandi.
