Alleppy or Alappuzha, is a land between sea and rivers. This place was named ” Venice of East” by Lord Curzon during his visit to India in the late 18th Century.
This quaint location is a centre of the backwaters of Kerala and also a host to an immense network of backwaters and houseboats, making it the most beautiful places for tourists to visit. The houseboats in past were the boats with a thatched roof covered by wooden hulls was used to carry tons of rice and spices. Now they are beautifully designed and used as the main business for tourist attractions.
